Dried figs are obtained from figs of the Ficus carica domestica L. species grown in the Aegean region of Turkey. The Aegean region accounts for 65% of the world’s dried fig production and these figs stand out with their unique taste, appearance, size and texture compared to other varieties. After harvesting, the figs are naturally sun-dried and ready for final use in processing plants.
